The Kiteboarding

Antigua and Barbuda offer spectacular kite & wing conditions for riders of all levels. Some spots are better suited to advanced riders while others can be enjoyed by everyone. Whatever your riding style you will find what you are looking for! Ultra flat water, island crossings and small swell are highlights.

With its constant trade winds, spectacular islands and tropical climate, the Lesser Antilles seem to have been created for the sole pleasures of sailing and kitesurfing. Our navigation plans are customized to combine maximum wind exposure with the most spectacular kite and wing spots.

This is going to be fun.

ABout Antigua and Barbuda

A warm climate and steady trade winds make Antigua and Barbuda one of the most desirable sailing destinations in the Caribbean and therefore perfect for kiting and winging. Antigua’s corrugated coastline offers an abundance of safe harbors, pristine coral reefs and dreamy beaches to explore on land, above and below the sea. Travel back to the 18th century walking the streets of English Harbour, experience the rich and vibrant culture of Antiguans and Barbudans or swim and kite with turtles and stingrays—the puppy dogs of the sea. Barbuda offers secluded spots, pristine flour-soft white sand beaches and pure wilderness - you can check out colorful reefs or famous frigate birds nesting.

Low islands let constant wind leeward and reefs make water super flat - the perfect conditions for learning new tricks or a downwind to the next spot. Waking up to a new kite destination every day, anchored right at the spot, makes it easy to change from snorkeling to cocktail hour and from kiting to soaking up the afternoon sun on the cushy front deck.

Water temperature: 24°C / 75°F

Air temperature: perfect 27°C / 80°C with lower humidity in March

Wind: full trade winds of 15-20kts

Example itinerary

DAY 1: Boarding in English Harbour, about half an hour from the main airport. We have dinner onboard and a get-to-know-each-other Saturday night out as this is one of the busiest cities on the island.

DAY 2: We set sail to Green Island (1.5h) and have breakfast underway. Kite sessions all day long with a light lunch in between and dinner onboard.

DAY 3: A short 1-2h easy sail after breakfast to Great Bird Island. The Great Bay will be our playground for the day. The best side of life on a cat is the fact that within the group every one can do their own thing - kite, sunbathe, explore the coast, have a snack or cocktail, SUP, snorkel … - all right off the boat.

DAY 4: Morning in Great Bay and a downwinder to Maiden Island. After lunch we set sail towards Barbuda (4h).

DAY 5: We wake up at Spanish Point beach. Flat water or small waves for kiting and a short afternoon downwind to beautiful Coco Point, where we spend the night and have a local lobster dinner on the beach (Shack-A-Kai or a bit fancier Uncle Roddy’s).

DAY 6: A relaxed day in paradise at Coco Point.

DAY 7: Sleep in or have a morning downwinder to Palmetto, where we stay and kite for the day. Evening stroll along Pink Beach and dinner onboard.

DAY 8: Morning return from Barbuda (4h) for the last day of kiting in Antigua at a spot we choose together, with dinner ashore.

DAY 9: Departure. Morning sail to our destination for board-off near the airport.

The Food to keep you fueled all day long!

I attended Sensi & Colleen’s first kite clinic in El Cuyo. What an epic fun week I had riding with these two inspiring pro kiteboarders and other amazing women from all over the world! I was very impressed by how well the ladies organized the event. From the travel logistics, accommodation, food, morning yoga, daily kite chats/instructions, time on the water, and exploring the surrounding areas they really did think of everything! Colleen and Sensi both took time to understand each of our goals and offered tips on and off the water that helped each of us progress. I hope I get to ride with these talented ladies again and definitely recommend all kite girls attend their retreat if you get the chance!
— Kelly W.
I am more accepting of myself, more likely to try new things, empowered by kiting with women and grateful to learn from Sensi and Colleen at kite camp.
— Margaret
The supportive nature of both Sensi and Colleen really made it the ultimate experience. Knowing that there was a little group of us out on the water and that they were always kinda there was awesome. I love being able to meet new people and connect with kiting again. But really, all of it was excellent.
— Kali
Seeing everyone get out there to try new things helped me gain the courage to also try.
— Brynje

We look forward to seeing you on the boat!
